Q & A: How many images do we receive of our wedding?

Q. How many images will we receive when we hire Laibel Schwartz Photography, Inc. for our wedding?

A. The number of images you’ll receive of your wedding will vary greatly depending on many factors. On average, you’ll have somewhere around 700-900, though there may sometimes be more or less.

Q. What determines the number images you receive?

A. The length of your wedding, the number of guests, and the “extras” that some people have (and some people don’t) such as cake cutting, speeches, father/daughter and mother/son dance, etc.

Q. Do you deliver every image that you take?

A. What we deliver to our clients is the culmination of our photographic perspective of your wedding. We do everything we can to capture the emotions filling the room, the details that you put so much time and effort into planning, the moments that you want to forever remember, the look of seeing each other as husband and wife for the first time…and so much more. It is important to us that we give you everything that documents your day, leaving out the images where people blinked, faces blurred because someone moved too quickly, or our flash didn’t fire. We know every moment is precious to you, and we work hard to deliver everything you’re looking for. Feel that something’s missing? Well, you know we tried.

Be honest. Would you hang up a portrait in which your sister’s eyes are closed?

Since any post without an image might feel a little lonely, I’ve attached one of our favorite family portraits below. Yep, right outside the Jerusalem old city walls…

Q & A: High Res. Images. What are they?

Q.  What exactly are ‘High Res. images’?  Are they watermarked?  Will they print?

A.  When hiring Laibel Schwartz Photography, Inc. you will receive High Resolution images, approximately 1200×1800 pixels in size. What does that mean? You’ll be able to print your images up to an 8×12″ image, big enough for all your scrapbooking, proofs for Shabbos, and sending prints to your family.

They are edited for color and exposure, and they are not watermarked. We have copyright on any images we take (as the creator(s)), but when you hire us, we’ll give you a Print Release that means you’re welcome to print them out where ever you like.

We’ll also provide you with a set of a smaller image size ready for upload onto facebook and twitter, or for emailing all your friends and extended family who couldn’t make it to your wedding.

Get Calm Before the Big Day | Jewish Wedding Photographers

Most of us aren’t used to being in front of a camera. I will even confess, I’m not sure I’ve gotten used to it myself, being that I spend most of my time behind the camera. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t get comfortable. Don’t let it be one of those “I’ll never be able to…[fill in the blank here]” feelings.

Our goal is to make our chosson & kallah look as good as they feel. (And feel as good as they look). We want you to feel comfortable and at ease, just having your picture taken because you’re so irresistible. You are! Don’t forget, you’re getting married today [tomorrow, or very soon].

The best thing you can do to feel comfortable on your wedding day is to have an engagement shoot with your chosen photographer. This may be at your vort, or a special time set aside to spend with your chosson (or kallah), and your wedding photographer. This will take all the scariness out of being photographed on your wedding day, just knowing who’s going to be behind the camera, and what it feels like to be the “star of the show”.

To schedule your session, call us at 845-418-2527 or shoot us an email: us@laibelschwartz.com.

What are your memories worth? | Jewish Wedding Photography

It’s obviously an integral part of our work. We’re clearly dealing with it all the time, but it’s been on my mind more than usual lately. What are your memories worth? How much should you invest in your photography, which lasts a lifetime?

Your wedding is one of the most costly endeavors you take on as a couple, until you marry off your own children and make iy”H many more weddings. We know they’re expensive, and we’re not about to fool anyone into thinking that hiring us will help you fulfill your perfect-wedding-that-didn’t-cost-a-dime dream.

But I’m writing to bring up what we as a couple, think is important in the whole engagement to wedding to marriage beginning. The diamond, and the wedding photography. They are inherently valued, and last forever. The hall is forgotten, the food digested, and the flowers wilt, but your wedding images will be something you can enjoy throughout your years together. Of course, I am not saying that the other aspects of a wedding do not enhance the simcha and pleasure of a wedding. They also enhance your images! However, we understand that it isn’t uncommon to be on a budget, and that some  may need to make a cut here or there. Don’t make it photography. Cut your budget somewhere else. You know what our clients on a budget tell us? They say, “We want to hire you because even though we can’t afford more now, we want to be able to invest in more [products] later. If we get everything now at a price we can afford, we won’t have the quality to work with that we’ll have if we hire you.”

All this is coming from the perspective of a husband and wife who have about 3-5 (actual figures) images that we’re happy with from our own wedding, see my blog post on “What I would have done differently for {my Wedding}”. It’s only one day, and the images are what you have left to tell of it.

But that’s just our opinion. Make your choice by visiting www.laibelschwartz.com.

All my best,
