Nafshenu Orchestra | Jewish Wedding Photography

We recently had the privilege of not only working alongside them, but photographing a few pieces of the Nafshenu Orchestra, incredible musicians and really special people, led by Aaron Appelbaum and Jonathan Rimberg. Check out the headshots we did, below, of a few of their musicians.

Eliyahu & Hudi Wincelberg | Jewish Wedding Photographer

Eliyahu & Hudi, the new Mr. & Mrs. Wincelberg, are the sweetest couple. As individuals, and now as a pair, they bring a beautiful light into the world, and we are so happy to call them neighbors (not next door, but still close!). I am happily posting a few images from their wedding, images which we feel give just a tiny glimpse at the emotion of their wedding, and at them.

Moshe Pifko’s Bar Mitzvah | Jewish Bar Mitzvah Photographer

Moshe Pifko became a Bar Mitzvah December 15th, 2012. A delay in blogging? Yes. A love of the post anyway? Of course. Located in Rabbi Veiner’s shul in Wesley Hills, NY, this Bar Mitzvah was something to talk about. The Pifko family is filled with an exuberant and genuine radiance which cannot be replaced. We had such a wonderful time capturing their joy and excitement as they celebrated making their first Bar Mitzvah. Mazel Tov!

Q & A: High Res. Images. What are they?

Q.  What exactly are ‘High Res. images’?  Are they watermarked?  Will they print?

A.  When hiring Laibel Schwartz Photography, Inc. you will receive High Resolution images, approximately 1200×1800 pixels in size. What does that mean? You’ll be able to print your images up to an 8×12″ image, big enough for all your scrapbooking, proofs for Shabbos, and sending prints to your family.

They are edited for color and exposure, and they are not watermarked. We have copyright on any images we take (as the creator(s)), but when you hire us, we’ll give you a Print Release that means you’re welcome to print them out where ever you like.

We’ll also provide you with a set of a smaller image size ready for upload onto facebook and twitter, or for emailing all your friends and extended family who couldn’t make it to your wedding.

If you have further questions, please feel free to email us at us@laibelschwartz.com

What I would have done differently for my Wedding |Jewish Wedding Photography

We’ve all made choices. Lots and lots of them. The little ones like, “Should I order the Handmade Gnocchi with Chicken & Duck Confit, or the Braised Short Ribs with Mashed Yams & Braised Kale?”, have never been my forte. Who could choose between such luscious sounding foods? But the big choices are just that, they’re big. It’s important which man you marry, and which city you live in. Those are not ‘ordered’ as quickly as the former. But how about your wedding choices? This dress or that one. An all white bouquet, or a warm red one with accents of blue and yellow? Your photography? Ah, the photography.

It. is. important.

We had no choice, we used the photographer we could, and that’s that. Would I have made a different choice? Definitely. Could I have taken control of it? It just isn’t clear. But one thing is for sure, we wish we had better images of our own wedding day. It doesn’t go away. It haunts me all the time (okay, maybe just a little more since I am a wedding photographer).

What are we doing about it? Taking stellar baby portraits all-the-time. At least our baby can have his milestones recorded in beautiful, transcending images. The kind that matter; documenting his “firsts”, his outings (with us of course), and those times he just looks cute.

What should you do? Hire a good wedding photographer. See my post about what your memories are worth, to be posted ASAP.
